The Tale
Conceived and directed by Claire Doherty, The Tale took audiences on a journey across three towns in Torbay, South Devon and spanned visual art installations, sound works, sculpture, immersive theatre, music and dance. The writer and broadcaster Philip Hoare, winner of the Samuel Johnson Prize for non-fiction, was commissioned to create the central text ‘Falling since Noon’ which inspired seven other artists to produce new performances and installations.
“Multi-sensory, genre-hopping, participative and provocative, the Tale puts Torbay on the map.”
